We have a climate and ecological crisis that we need to solve together.

Over 67% of all animal species are at threat of extinction, and the biological diversity upon which our ecosystems depend are being destroyed at an unimaginable rate, and we have to stop that destruction immediately in order to stop an ecological collapse, which will end in an economic and social collapse of all world systems. If we end the threat to the natural world and protect existing biodiversity, we can find ourselves in a much better world just by taking this small action worldwide. If we do this now, together, then all economic outputs of every nation will increase and the energy companies will have to either switch to renewable and sustainable sources or go out of business, because they can no longer grow in their exploration of oil, for every single year they must reduce it by 20%. Any failure to achieve this results in nationalisation of the company.

On August 14th an amazing young girl named Greta Thunberg, the girl I have painted in this picture, set sail from England to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a small emissions free sailing boat to demonstrate her commitment to the environmental fight for our planet's future, and the importance of taking personal responsibility for our actions on this planet, which now means taking real measurable action to protect our planet's natural ecosystems.

I have a MEng in Renewable Energy Engineering and spent many years at the edge of the fintech world, where I saw how our entire economy is managed. Here are 12 steps I think we must take to stop the climate crisis in time before ecological collapse.

12 Steps

1. Public education on the consequences of every industrial and commercial activity environmentally, so that people begin to use less environmentally harmful products or find alternatives.

Start by educating the people on every business and listing every company that profits from the destruction of the Amazon.

Apply sanctions and trade restrictions to every company believed involved in the Amazon burning, which is still going on.

Make unsustainable logging completely illegal and block the trade of products developed through unsustainable means.

A carbon footprint calculated for every consumer product according to how and where they are produced, verified by a governing body in the nation they intend to export to, and then marked on the packaging for that product.

Begin major education program across the world on the climate crisis, with a curriculum developed by climate and environmental experts.

Starting with Ecological Systems, The Ecological history of Earth, the Ecological State of the world today, The Economic Systems Causing Destruction, The need for a Carbon Budget, the Economic methods of Enforcing Environmental Sustainability, Opportunity cost of an economic collapse vs an ecological collapse and planetary desolation, Human impact upon animal  populations, The Profound Importance of Biodiversity, Pollinators and their effect on the food chain, Bee populations and the effect of pesticides upon insects, birds, top soil and human beings, The Effect of Chemicals and Artificial Fertilisers, The Ecological Interdependence between Man and Nature.

Summary: When Ecosystems Die, Man dies. All of man. All.

2. Immediately define, create and enforce protection of Emergency Animal and Plant Biodiversity Zones. The few last remaining great zones and all smaller zones are to be protected. New zone are to be nurtured and grown.

3. Distributed Sustainable Energy Network that individuals can buy to help cover cost of transitioning from existing energy systems to sustainable systems. The benefit of buying this system is that you can produce your own power, and then sell it to others around you or direct to the grid. This means that you are effectively starting a business, and the government will give you a loan to do this if you wish. Contract is for you to pay back the state with electricity, not money. You become a supplier of electricity to the state, and all of the individuals involved in this network also supply, so the nations energy network becomes decentralised, modernised, distributed, and emissions free - because it will be in the residential areas. A combination of CHP, Solar and Hydrogen is probably the best standard start, until more advanced renewable energy technology is developed.

4. All future fossil fuel use in the developed world is to be converted to sustainable and renewable energy systems with a rate to sustainable under 6 years for every operation and process in every industry. After 6 years absolutely no more fossil fuels tolerated in world economy. Any business still reliant upon them is out of trading on world markets.

5. There will be defined National, Corporate and Individual Carbon Budgets determined according to the Environmental Impact of a company or corporation and these will determine the economic rates applied to that entities trade. If it does not pay it loses its assets completely. Companies and Corporations have no rights before law to fight this. They are not humans. No human law applies to a company. If it does not comply, it does no business in the human marketplace. It loses its access to all forms of financing and service from every bank in the world.

6. Close Factories that pollute - Open clean factories (many nations would benefit from this) with E.U investment.

7. Create Sustainable Communities & Housing - Essential. Give financing and free land to people who can design and build clean renewable energy or energy free communities.

8. Reclaim and reuse plastics from the rivers and Sea. Reuse price will be paid for by all companies producing plastic and using plastic in their business. They will pay an agreed price for the plastic, equivalent to the cost of producing their own plastic or buying it elsewhere.

9. Massive funding for independent development of sustainable energy systems, open source community completely without patents to supported by partner universities. Seed fund with several stage prizes (design £20,000, prototype £100,000, industrial scale £10,000,000) promising research scaled up in 2 year research program across all world to develop distributed sustainable energy solutions for humanity as a whole, worldwide.

Final selection partners would receive contracts worth over £1Bn in orders.

10. Nature days for everyone. Between 3 and 5 days each break. Giving enough time to make a significant environmental impact, such as clearing plastics from rivers and beaches or building new forests and urban farms. Resources should also be dedicated to helping children understand the need for protection of and connection with the natural world. Economic breaks are needed to clean up industrial waste and examine the environmental impact of each company's operations so that they can reduce their impact worldwide. Actionable reviews will be managed by organisations like Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.

Less transport and trade means less environmental impact. Simply taking more time off helps protect the environment. Cycle paths should be built in all major cities with an extensive public cycle network. Clean energy zones should be established with car free and emission free zones.

11. Open Shipping Routes

12. Make Greta the children's budget holder, which is a percentage of GDP equal to the proportion of the population in any nation considered to be children. She will then manage all economic decisions with a team of advisers, most of whom will be other "children" - 16 and under. This will ensure resources are allocated correctly, as children are more than capable of discerning between a liar and an honest man by the time they are 16. They will be able to choose how those resources are allocated and who will receive them for the projects that the children will choose to fund. I guarantee you, the children will out manage and out perform every human government in recorded history until this day. Give this power to the children, not even more than the percentage equal to their populations percentage, and it will change the whole world for the good of everyone. There will be such a force for good in this world, that with relatively little power it will easily overcome the beast of evil people driving government and enterprise. Giving Greta a fund of her own and the power to veto expenses and allocate directly will help to support all those working toward what is good in our world todaty. Child leaders are very rare nowadays, but they are always the best.

For way too long, the politicians and the people in power have gotten away with not doing anything to fight the climate crisis, but we will make sure that they will not get away with it any longer. We are striking because we have done our homework and they have not.

BioDiversity

Over 70% of world biodiversity is concentrated in just these areas.

Simply banning industrial operations in these areas is essential to protecting our planet, but we must also monitor populations closely and ban the use of all chemicals and practices that are harmful to the ecological recover of our planet

BioDiversity

It is important to take away all restrictions to the people working for ecological and environmental sustainability today. We have to massively increase our funding of wildlife recovery centres and field working teams who manage major reserves and protect them from poaching. These teams will be given the resources to exand their territories every year and given more resources according to the amount of new habitat developed, meaning a fast recovery is given even more resources to ensure it is maintained as rapidly as can be. This will see some miracles of resource recovery that change our perception of how quickly we can rebuild our ecological world.

BioDiversity

Africa is an essential part of preserving our natural world and rebuilding the paradise this planet once was. If we are to really change the world, it must be lead by Africa. There is a unbelievable potential to power the complete reversal of world affairs, into a sustainable and more equal world. With relatively little investment, African nations can become completely sustainable both economically and ecologically, and many are already far ahead of western nations and cities, for example by banning plastic.

We must protect these areas.

We must ban all logging in the Amazon. No more being cute about it. No more logging. No more agricultural business. If the Brazilian government does not respect the worlds most valuable natural resource, and the Brazilian people are not willing or able to stop them, then we will have to do it from our side - the consumer side. We are the ones consuming the products producing by burning and clearing the amazon. Their destruction turns into a group of products that make a number of companies lots of money, so we are also able to radically reduce that demand, forcing them to change their business as they rapidly lose profits. If you want to help now her is a way to start.

Immediately stop buying products from the companies that prof from the destruction of the amazon and educate yourself further on sustainable alternatives to all of your daily and essential products.

Support sanctions on any country, anywhere, that is allowing ecologically unsustainable operations to continue threatening the Earth's ecosystems.

We must begin both at the governmental and financial level and the consumer level (YOU) to make ecologically sound decisions. All unsustainable behaviour must become completely unprofitable to anyone who engages in it. That will stop it. It must no longer be possible to profit from the destruction of this planet.

This little girl has started the work to save our world.

Help her.

The Sustainable City, Dubai - UAE

This community of 500 townhouses and villas produces 10 Mega Watts of power (peak) from an array of photovoltaic solar panels on a car free site, which is much more than it needs.

With 11 natural bio-dome greenhouses

and organic farms for local food production,

The Sustainable City project is part of the UAE's aim to have 75% of Dubai's Energy come from clean sources by 2050.

Clean Public Transport

Recently Hydrogen Powered Trains were introduced to several European railways (Germany, The U.K, France and others).

The benefit of this is that their fuel is clean and burns to produce only pure water as waste. The beauty of hydrogen is that its combustion in oxygen produces pure water and thus an effectively designed hydrogen power network could also produce clean water as a byproduct.
